Golftripper ("the App") is operated by Joel Roos Svensson ("we", "us", "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the App.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Account Information

When you create an account, we collect:

Name — provided by you or your sign-in provider
Email address — provided by you or your sign-in provider
Profile photo — optionally uploaded by you
Handicap index — entered by you
Country and gender — optionally provided by you

1.2 Authentication Data

We support sign-in via Google, Apple, and email/password. When you sign in through Google or Apple, we receive your name and email address from the provider. We do not receive or store your Google or Apple password. Authentication tokens are stored securely on your device using platform-native secure storage (iOS Keychain / Android Keystore).

1.3 Gameplay Data

When you use the App, we collect:

Tournament and round configurations you create
Hole-by-hole stroke counts
Team assignments and player groupings
Bonus competition results and awards
Game events and milestones (e.g., birdies, eagles, lead changes)

1.4 Social Data

Friend connections and friend requests
Chat messages within tournaments
Photos uploaded to tournaments or rounds

1.5 Device and Usage Data

Push notification token — stored only if you grant notification permission
Crash reports — collected automatically via Sentry when the App encounters an error (includes device model, OS version, and a screenshot of the error state)
Location — accessed only when you explicitly tap "Use my location" to find nearby golf courses; we use foreground-only, low-accuracy location and do not track your location in the background

1.6 Guest Players

Tournament admins can add guest players (players without an account). Guest player records contain only a name and gameplay data — no email, authentication, or device data is collected for guests.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

Provide and operate the App (accounts, tournaments, scoring, leaderboards)
Enable social features (friends, chat, photo sharing)
Send push notifications you have opted into (score updates, tournament events)
Diagnose and fix crashes and technical issues
Enforce our terms and maintain a safe community

We do not use your information for advertising, profiling, or sale to third parties.
